Embodiment Yoga for Befriending Your Inner Nature

A Practice Rooted in Presence

What Makes Our Yoga Unique

Embodiment-Centered Philosophy

Guided by classic and tantra yogic wisdom, our classes weave together body, breath, emotion, and spirit. Each practice emphasizes inner awareness over outer form, allowing you to move with intention, curiosity, and compassion.

At Twisted Willow Studio, yoga is more than movement, it’s a path of reconnection. Practice Rooted in Presence

Our Embodiment Yoga classes support nervous system regulation, body awareness, and emotional integration. Whether you're beginning your journey or deepening an existing practice, you're invited into a space where you’ll be seen, supported, and guided with care.

We welcome all levels, ages, and life stages, including prenatal, postpartum, and third age (senior) students.

Styles Offered

We offer a variety of yoga styles taught through an embodiment lens:

Hatha

A grounding practice that builds strength and balance through mindful movement and breath.

Prenatal & Postnatal

Gentle, supportive movement tailored to nurture the body through pregnancy and postpartum transitions.

Restorative

A nurturing, prop-supported practice that soothes the nervous system and invites deep rest.

Vinyasa

A flowing, breath-led sequence that encourages presence, fluidity, and internal rhythm.

Third Age (Seniors)

Accessible and adaptive practices designed to support mobility, stability, and overall well-being in later life.

Yin

A slow, meditative practice that works deeply into the fascia to cultivate stillness and release.

Personalized Support

Our class sizes are small and intentional, giving instructors time to adapt postures and offer support that honours each student's body, needs, and aspirations. We’re also open to collaborating with other therapeutic supports in your wellness plan.

Core Elements of Practice

All classes are trauma-informed, inclusive, and accessible to every body.

  • Mindful Movement:

Yoga postures (asanas) are practiced with intention, focusing on the experience of movement and stillness rather than achieving a specific form.

  • Yogic Techniques:

Yogic techniques such as meditation, breathwork, mantra, mudra and marma are used to regulate the nervous system, promote relaxation, and enhance bodily awareness.

  • Self-Awareness:

Yoga encourages self-reflection and exploration of one's physical and emotional experiences, fostering a deeper understanding of oneself.

Meet Our Team

Our teachers are compassionate guides who bring years of experience, embodied wisdom, and a trauma-informed approach to every class. Each one is committed to supporting your personal journey with care, presence, and skill.
